The Arc of the St. Johns provides extensive rehabilitation services for children and adults living with autism, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. The Beaches Extension brings these services within reach of residents of Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville Beach and other N.E. Florida beach communities.

The Beaches Extension -- ensures that residents of the beaches community who have a developmental disability are offered the opportunity and training to achieve their goal of becoming a participating member of their community. The program offers door to door transportation within the boundaries of our service area which includes Mickler’s Landing to the Palm Valley Bridge to Hodges Boulevard to Mayport to the Atlantic Ocean. Monthly activity schedules are developed with the assistance from individuals served by the program. Everyone has the opportunity to participate in selected community outings at least twice a week. Daily activities vary according to the desires and goals of those served. Additional training is provided in the following areas: communication, cognitive, sensory stimulation, personal choice development and behavior management.
