Kathy Jackson, Executive Director of The Arc of the St. Johns, has announced that Michelle Yawn will assume the position of Director of Residential Services effective immediately.

Michelle has exhibited unwavering commitment as a valued member of The Arc team for a span of 25 years. During her tenure at The Arc, she has fulfilled a variety of roles, including Direct Service Professional, Area Coordinator, Assistant Residential Director, Director of Supported Living, and most recently, Director of Quality Assurance.

Apart from her role as the agency’s Quality Assurance Director, Michelle has showcased a commitment to elevating both her professional expertise and academic credentials. This commitment culminated in the achievement of a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Behavioral Therapy, distinguished by Magna Cum Laude honors. Additionally, she has acquired numerous certifications specific to her field.

She became a Certified Behavior Analyst in October of 2023 and is presently engaged in pursuing dual Master’s programs; a Master’s of Education, with emphases in Behavioral Therapy and Organizational Behavior Management, and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling.

Reflecting on her appointment, Michelle expressed her profound gratitude, stating, “I am honored to have been chosen for this role. Our current goal within Residential Services is twofold: to deliver superior quality of care to those we serve while maintaining the growth and trajectory set forth by my esteemed predecessor.”
